What's happening
Mercury stationing direct is the second pivot of a retrograde cycle. From Earth's view, Mercury has appeared to move backward through the zodiac. At the direct station, its apparent longitudinal speed passes through zero again, this time on the way back to forward motion.
The important word is "station." Mercury is not suddenly racing ahead. Around the exact moment, it is still nearly still against the zodiac, and that slowness can make small details feel unusually consequential.
The tradition
If the retrograde station opens the review, the direct station begins the release. Classical and contemporary readings both tend to treat this as a turning point for Mercury's topics: messages, agreements, errands, routes, documents, trade, devices, and the tiny systems that let a day run.
The direct station does not erase the retrograde period. It gathers what the retrograde revealed and asks for integration. The misread email, the delayed shipment, the conversation that needed another pass: these become material for a cleaner next version.
How to work with it
Move, but do not sprint. Confirm the revised plan before acting on it. Send the follow-up, update the document, restart the conversation, check the itinerary, and leave room for one last correction.
This is especially helpful for decisions that were postponed during the retrograde. The point is not to wait forever; it is to act from better information.
The simple rule
Ask what changed during the review window. The direct station is the doorway out, but the useful thing is what you carry through it.
